What are you planning to play on March 20th, DOOM or Animal Crossing? Well as it turns out there is a ton more DOOM love coming on March 20th as the re-release of DOOM 64 is releasing the same day as DOOM Eternal. Better yet, you can get the old school demon-slaying shooter for a mere $5. Considering this is the first official release of DOOM 64 on a platform besides Nintendo 64 the price is a bit of a shocker. I honestly was expecting $15, not gonna complain though! But yes, this is the first time DOOM 64 will be available officially outside of its original 1997 N64 release and it is coming to PC, PS4 Nintendo Switch and Xbox One.

Doom 64 is an interesting release for the DOOM franchise as it was developed and released by Midway rather than internally at Id. The game featured fully rendered 3D environments while enemy sprites were redone from scratch and IMO the best looking of the original series. I finally did a full playthrough of the game only a year or 2 back on N64 and it was crazy how well the game has stood the test of time. The new release will feature HD resolutions and a new widescreen presentation. Diving back in to finish off most of the secrets and unlocks I missed in my last playthrough on the Switch sounds awesome so I am going to be placing myself in the DOOM category on March 20th, what about you?
