Fantasy Flight Games has changed elements of the Star Wars™: Legion gameplay, and the updated version of the Rules Reference is available online.
The World Championships of the game are nearing, as players will compete at Adepticon 2020 from March 25th to 29th, so the changes come at a good time. There are smaller clarifications and re-wording of rules to continually optimize the living rules reference, but developers also made some significant adjustments regarding Shoretroopers and Tauntaun Riders.
Adjustments made to the rules will reduce the effectiveness of certain strategies employed using Shoretroopers and Tauntaun Riders, which affects both Imperial and Rebel tactics.
FFG has made indirect changes to modify the extent to which players use these two units, but more drastic alterations have been avoided, and the developer wants players to know that both Shoretroopers and Tauntaun Riders will be evaluated over time to observe the impact of the changes before the next competitive points rebalance.
