Blackbird Interactive, the studio behind Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak has announced an upcoming project—Hardspace: Shipbreaker. The developer has partnered with Focus Home Interactive to bring this space adventure to Steam Early Access later this year.
Players will be galactic reclaimers, space(ship) pirates, astronautical repo men (and women), as well as laser-cutter wielders and welders.
Hardspace: Shipbreaker will be a sandbox of chaos as true-to-life physics and demolition effects threaten the very life of players in this unforgiving world. As individuals indebted to the corporations—Who isn’t these days?—shipbreakers will do exactly what their name implies. They will break ships, scavenging parts and pieces to reduce their debt… without killing themselves in the process. Death is expensive, and you don’t want the debt to keep climbing.
Early Access will offer a lot for players. Two different classes of spaceships can be salvaged. Tools and skills can be upgraded. And the first part of the story will be available to play in the campaign.
As the Early Access period progresses, expect more spaceships, missions, challenges, modding support and a bunch of other content.
Hardspace: Shipbreaker salvages its way onto Steam Early Access in Summer 2020.
