Who is ready for a new Evercade cartridge? This time, the cartridge is from Bitmap Brothers and includes five games. The Bitmap Brothers Collection 1 will be identified as collection number 22 and includes the games:

Speedball
Speedball 2: Brutal Deluxe
Speedball 2100
Xenon 2: Megablast
According to Evercade, this new collection, in partnership with owners Rebellion, features 5 of the best games from the British development team that was dubbed as ‘rock stars.’ The games on this release come from the home console releases of these titles. They curated the game list and focused on the developers’ early beginnings with combat sports.
Out of the list, I am most interested in “The Chaos Engine” and “Xenon 2: Megablast.” Both of these games are shooters. “Chaos Engine” is a run and gun, while “Xenon 2” is a SHMUP. Speedball and its sequels remind of an amalgamation of soccer, football, and pinball. One thing of particular note; Speedball 2100 is actually a PlayStation release. That right there, shows that the Evercade itself has a lot of untapped potential for the future. The collection is set for release in September 2021.
