It is no secret that Epic Games has something in store to share about Fortnite this coming E3. Now, the developer announced its plans on a blog post yesterday, revealing everything that is heading towards the ever-popular battle royale game.
First off, Epic is putting up a booth on the show floor at the South Hall of the Los Angeles Convention Center. The booth will be available from June 12 all the way through June 14 and players can play Fortnite, win numerous prizes, and hang out with fellow fans of the game. Although its a bit odd that Fortnite is spending all these resources on E3 given that the game has been out for quite some time now, but maybe Epic has something exciting to announce at the conference.
Besides the show floor booth, Epic is also hosting a tournament called “Fortnite Celebrity Pro-Am” where famous streamers will partner with celebrities in a doubles tournament of the game. A total of $3 million will be available as prize money that will be given away to the winner’s chosen charity.
All in all, around 50 pro players and 50 celebrities will be competing in the event. A few notable personalities include Ninja and Marshmello, Myth and Paul George, and Markiplier and Joel McHale. Fortnite Celebrity Pro-Am will happen on June 12 and will commence at 3:30 PM PT/ 6:30 PM ET.
Tickets for the event is currently priced at $10. Unfortunately, tickets can only be purchased to those who receive an invitation email from Epic Games who will send out invites to people who live in Los Angeles. In total, 3,000 tickets will be available, and it will be sent out in waves.
Lastly, Epic will host a “Party Royale” on the evening of June 12. Again, this will be a gathering that is by invitation only. However, players can visit the Fortnite booth located on the show floor to get the chance to win a ticket for the event. Only people who are 18 or older will be able to attend the party.
