A teenager from New Orleans was tragically killed in a shooting last month. Now, the family decided to honor his life by posing him for the funeral just as he lived---with a PS4 controller on hand and a bag of Doritos nearby.

Renard Matthews was only eighteen years old when he was killed by a gunshot while walking his dog on June 25. Matthews' mother, Temeka Matthews talked to WGNO and said that Renard was a chill homebody, who is a massive fan of the Boston Celtics. For her son's funeral, Temeka and the family decided to honor his memory in a non-traditional way during his wake last Sunday.

Instead of laying his body in a casket, the family posed Matthews seated in a chair in front of a TV playing NBA2K. Matthews was dressed in a Kyrie Irving jersey complete with the matching socks and sunglasses. To his side were his favorite snack, a bag of Doritos and a bottle of root beer.

Although the wake of Renard Matthews was a vast departure from the norm, this gesture showed his family's loving tribute after his life was tragically cut short by the shooting incident. Besides, people grieve in different ways. It may appear to be unusual and weird to some, but this is the family's way of remembering him, which they are entitled to, being the closest people to Renard.  He is now laid to rest at Interment Providence Memorial Park.
