Well this is some exciting news, Epic Games has opened up a new studio in Cologne, Germany. Even more exciting is that it is being run by former Factor 5 members including Achim Moller, who will serve as the new studios president, and Julian Eggebrecht, serving as Epic’s Director of Online Technology! Factor 5 is best know for there work on the beloved Star Wars Rogue Squadron games for the Nintendo 64 and GameCube before the studio moistly folded during the early days of Gen 7.

It is awesome to see new studios being created and with the high profile hires already here I have some high hopes for the studio. The new studio is still in the midst of hiring so no projects or timetables have been given on any potential games for the studio. Needless to say I hope that at some point the studio will be able to make a Star Wars title!
