One of the most enjoyable games I got to play at E3 was Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair. The move to side-scrolling felt great and the team at Playtonic really went all in on delivering a solid platformer. That is just the gameplay for levels! The overworld segments of Impossible Lair are done in a top down fashion and provide a fun gameplay variation. You can check out my full preview thoughts through the link above!
Today Playtonic has tweeted a a tease on Impossible Lair’s release date! There still isn’t a solid date but now we at least have a good idea of when the game will be available. The tail end of 2019 is shaping up to be one of the best in years with tons of high-profile releases from both AAA and independent studios. Just make sure you keep an eye out for one lizard and bat duo who want to be the platformer of choice during the release heavy season!
