While many action-focused games are created with the idea of becoming the strongest and most powerful character, it doesn’t follow the true path of a samurai. That’s why Flying Wild Hog and Devolver Digital are working on a gameplay base that takes the detail of proper sword combat into their upcoming title Trek to Yomi.
This new gameplay trailer demonstrates how patience and timing are key to the game’s combat; using the opponent's strength against them by employing deft maneuvers to throw them off balance and land a killing blow. Players will face off against a myriad of enemies across beautiful and terrifying lands, including spearmen, archers, riflemen, and even beings believed to be nothing more than folk tales!
Trek to Yomi will take players to feudal Japan to go on a samurai-based action-filled adventure sometime in Spring 2022 on PC via Steam, PlayStation, and Xbox, including Game Pass. After seeing the gameplay in action, it seems to have a more precise combat system within a world inspired by the classic Onimusha series.
