ArenaNet dropped a gorgeous behind the scenes featurette today that pulled back the curtain on the Guild Wars 3 original score, and the headline is a big one: BAFTA Games Awards nominee Kazuma Jinnouchi is leading the charge as the game's lead composer. If that name doesn't immediately ring a bell, his resume absolutely will. Jinnouchi's credits span Halo, Star Wars, Metal Gear, and Ghost in the Shell, and he's bringing that blockbuster pedigree to Tyria alongside an incredible team.
The featurette also features Guild Wars 3 audio lead Chase Thompson and music lead Nadia Wheaton discussing the creative philosophy behind the score and offering a peek at the orchestra recording sessions with the City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra from earlier this year. It's a beautiful watch that makes the scale and ambition of this project feel very, very real.
Even better, you don't have to wait to hear the results. The Guild Wars 3 Main Theme is available to stream right now on most major music platforms and is purchasable on iTunes and Bandcamp. We've had it on repeat, and it absolutely delivers.
This is the kind of composer announcement that signals ArenaNet isn't just making a sequel. They're building something that sounds like it belongs on a stage as much as it does in a game. Stream the theme, watch the featurette, and start getting excited, as Guild Wars 3 is sounding incredible. FAST FORWARD TO LAUNCH!
