Rogue Games and David Marquardt Studios introduced us to a new futuristic Wild West, Dust & Neon. This twin-stick roguelite sets one mech-enhanced cowboy against an army of robots in a stylish backdrop of the open west. The cell-shaded aesthetic gives this shooter some personality reminiscent of Borderlands and that is not a bad thing.
Players take on the role of the mech-cowboy known as the Gunslinger, which is brought back to life by a mad scientist, set to take on the evil robot force. Although permadeath is a main topic, player progression as well as weapons and items will be available to buy back on multiple runs. This twin-stick looter shooter roguelite will have players traversing the map while fighting off the robot force.
This new developer walkthrough shows us nearly 10 minutes of new gameplay footage of the roguelite in action. The cover-based top-down shooter will have a heavy focus on loot and progression. Although we all may have the heart of a brave bounty hunter, eventually death creeps up. No need to fret too much, since the mad scientist it ready with your clones at bay to continue where the previous Gunslinger left off.
This game is looking like a solid entry to the roguelite genre and is offering something new with its RPG-esque progression and combat system. There is currently no launch date for the game but it is slated to release next year.
Dust & Neon will be available on PC via Steam sometime in 2023.
