How Long is High on Life 2?

High on Life 2 is finally here, and it is even more over-the-top than its predecessor. With new and returning Gatlians at your disposal, you, the “G3 killer” turned outlaw, will have quite a bunch to do in the game, no matter how ridiculous and extravagant the task at hand may be.

So, with that in mind, you might be wondering how much time you will spend collecting bounties across the universe to prevent yet another conspiracy against humanity. Well, it all depends on your completionist ambitions, as there are lots of collectibles in the games, and your willingness to put up with what might feel like an infinite source of jokes.

How long does it take to beat High on Life 2?

Depending on your skill and difficulty choice, High on Life 2 will take about 10 to 12 hours to beat if you choose to stick to the main story and forgo the vast majority of upgrades and collectibles. While the game does offer you the ability to explore each level, it is pretty linear, and it doesn’t lock your progress, even if you are ill-equipped to tackle the late-game missions.

However, if you choose to get 100% completion, you are looking to spend around 20 to 25 hours in the game. While some upgrades can be found inside rarer Lugloxes, most of them must be purchased using Pesos. The same applies to cosmetics, with additional collectibles such as Skate Letters and optional objectives such as Wanted Posters being spread throughout each world. That, of course, means a good chunk of exploration.

Now, High on Life 2 does have what I would call the Squanch Games spice, which potentially makes the game even longer. There are multiple fully emulated retro games, such as Bible Adventures and Gourmet Warriors, that you can choose to complete, and there is also a 12-hour-long health complaint task available for you to attempt. Whether these count as completion requirements is entirely up to you.

In simple terms, most players will probably see themselves playing around 15 hours of High on Life 2 should they choose to follow the main story and explore a bit of the universe to find its secrets. You can just stand around and listen to an endless stream of Gatlian banter, too, but I would skip that if I were you.

High on Life 2 launches on February 13 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, and on April 20 on Nintendo Switch 2.
