How to Beat Nox's Beast in Mina the Hollower

Nox’s Beast is the final boss of Nox’s Bayou in Mina the Hollower, which you’ll most likely be facing off against after fighting the Duchess at Queensbury Crypt. Unlike the Duchess, Nox’s Beast only has one phase, but it’s a difficult battlefield with plenty of deep water to accidentally plunge into. Don’t worry, we’re here to help! Here are some tips on beating Nox’s Beast in Mina the Hollower.

Nox’s Beast boss guide in Mina the Hollower

When dealing with Nox’s Beast, the most annoying and common way this creature can chip at your health is when it bounces around. Luckily, it can’t travel far this way, so make sure to dodge before it hits you. This boss also likes to spray poison bubbles around, but the battlefield is so large that they’re quite easy to avoid.

Due to how large the playing field is, you may want a ranged sidearm, like the throwable dagger or axe. This is especially important for when Nox’s Beast opens its second mouth, the one on its stomach, and sucks in everything in its vicinity.

If you’re already standing too close, you’ll be swallowed and lose health. But if you’re already at a distance, you can run or burrow away and avoid getting hurt. Never stay too close to the boss.

Another thing Nox’s Beast will do is destroy shallow water and turn the ground into deep water. As you can guess, avoid falling. If you’re prone to falling, consider buying the Pit Preserver Trinket at Big Lagoon's Swamp Shack in the bayou, which can save you from a death in deep water.

When it’s at low health, Nox’s Beast will start swimming through the water, creating large pits of deep water and damaging you in the process if it hits you. The creature seems to swim mostly diagonally, so burrow the opposite way to avoid getting hit.

Finally, it will try slamming into the ground and make waves of wire spread out. These happen in an evenly-timed wave, so simply jump over the rings of fire. Burrowing won’t save you from getting hurt here.

That’s all there is to beating Nox’s Beast! With that out of the way, you should make sure by this point you’ve found the map in Mina the Hollower.
