Once you get to the Far Fields in Hollow Knight: Silksong, you’ll meet the Seamstress, and she’ll ask you to collect 25 Spine Cores from Hokers. She’ll be able to weave you a better cloak, giving you the ability to glide in the air and fly up the wind streams.
Although it may seem easy at first, collecting Spine Cores isn’t as simple as you think. These are particular creatures that will only give you the item you need if you know how to procure it. So, here’s how you can complete the Flexible Spines Hunt and collect 25 Spine Cores in Silksong.
Spines Cores locations in Silksong
You can collect Spine Cores from Hokers in Hollow Knight: Silksong by hitting the Hokers and then the spikes themselves. First, head to the caves to the east of this room. There, you’ll find plenty of Hokers, floating creatures with spikes sticking out.
Watch out, because when you attack, the spikes will shoot out in the direction they’re facing. But that’s exactly what you want them to do. They’ll die in around 3 hits, but you don’t want to kill them immediately. Hit them, then wait for them to push the spikes out.
Those are the Spine Cores you’re looking for. Sometimes, they’ll jet off in a direction that’s too far. But other times, they’ll hit the ground beneath you or on a wall nearby. Find one sticking out, then hit that to drop a Spine Core.
One Hoker can emit quite a few Spine Cores, and since there are plenty of these enemies around, you won’t have a problem collecting this item. Once you get enough, head back to the Seamstress and she’ll reward you with that cloak upgrade so you can start gliding after jumps.
Now, you can head back to where you came from. But unfortunately, a new boss called Fourth Chorus has awakened. Otherwise, you should also learn how to find all 5 lost fleas in Silksong.
