Bone Beach is one of the tougher regions to find in Mina the Hollower. You first have to find Sandfalls, then complete some elaborate puzzles using bombs and dynamite. There’s also an arduous boss fight in your way. So, if you need some guidance, here’s a step-by-step guide on how to make it to Bone Beach in Mina the Hollower.
How to find Sandfalls in Mina the Hollower
Starting from Ossex, you must first find and pass through Sandfalls before you can even step onto Bone Beach. Remember, we recommend you find Septemburg first and defeat The Carving Man before you get to the fourth tower at Bone Beach. Here’s how to find the entrance to Sandfalls:
1. Head out the south exit of Ossex and go down the stairs to the south.
2. On this next screen, head east up the stairs and pass the guards until you can bounce your way up into the cavern entrance.
3. Once inside the cave, head west by bouncing on the Puff Plants until you reach the ledge with the weeds growing. Jump onto the Puff Plant that’s southeast of you and onto the platform just south of it.
4. Jump to the right L-shaped platform, then bounce all the way to the exit northeast of you.
5. Once above ground, head south and break the explosive blocking your way to the left. Head down the stairs and defeat the enemies.
6. Burrow under the Puff Plant and push it west to throw it over the gap. Jump across, then burrow and push the plant south. Bounce on it to leap onto the platform south of you.
7. Head east and defeat the large mouse guard before heading through a new cave entrance to your north.
The last mini-dungeon in your way is called the Mining Passage, and it consists of a few rooms you must parkour through. Unfortunately, the platforms below are invisible, so use the gold specs on the ground and the dripping liquid from the ceiling to help guide you on where to step.
In the first room, use two Plasma Vials to drop down, then parkour carefully to the left side where the button is. Push the button, then head east into the next room.
Next, wait for the rope to slide right and follow behind it on the gold trail. When the rope starts to head back to the left, stop and burrow under to get to the other side. Avoid the enemies and parkour over to the room on your right.
Either defeat the enemies carefully or avoid them here. It’s easier to spot where to jump in the northern area of this room, as it’s also closest to the stairs to the next room.
It’s best to take down this next enemy. Goad him over to your platform, avoid getting hit by the swinging weapon, and lay some hits until he’s defeated. Now you can safely make it to the left side of the room to hit the button and head back up the stairs.
How to enter Bone Beach
Now that you’re finally in Sandfalls, you need to open the entrance to Bone Beach in the center of the main area. To do this, follow these steps that involve tossing bombs onto the red dynamite carts:
1. Head south until you see a bomb in the bottom-right corner. Lift the bomb by burrowing under it, walk across the sand to your left, and throw it on one of the moving platforms to hit the dynamite cart. Time it so it doesn’t drop down before exploding.
2. Enter the area you’ve now opened up and burrow under a moving platform to get to the left side with the pig enemy. Burrow south and fight the giant toad before heading to the northwestern entrance to the next area.
3. Grab the bomb and throw it at the dynamite cart above you. Time it so you throw it right when it’s just about to explode, as you can only throw it above the chasm.
4. With the L-shaped sand route open, grab the bomb again and toss it onto the sand. Jump onto the sand and grab the bomb again. Jump off the sand and toss it at the dynamite cart to your left to open the next area.
5. Burrow through the tunnel you opened on the left, then head north until you find some spike traps and two dynamite carts (breaking these will only give you some Bones).
6. Grab the bomb and hop off the platform to your right. Walk down the moving sand while avoiding the spikes, then make a left. Jump over the gap, then toss the bomb at the row of dynamite carts.
7. Head back to the bomb in the southeastern corner, but this time carry it east across the moving platforms and toss it at the two carts. South of you will be Sandfalls’ train station.
8. Finally, grab the bomb to your north, leap off the platform to your left, and run across the zig-zagging sand heading northwest. You will have enough time to toss it at the two dynamite carts.
The main entrance to Bone Beach at the center platform is now open. It’s blocked by a lock that requires three Plasma Vials, and through there is a boss fight against Major Miner, so make sure to heal up first at the Underlab before going here. Once you defeat Major Miner, you’ll find yourself in Bone Beach!
