Screamer features a hefty amount of content for you to dive into. Not only are there 15 characters with unique stats and passive skills to try out, but there are also 32 tracks to race on as well.
The only caveat is that you’ll need to unlock most of them. It certainly looks daunting at first, but it’s thankfully not as bad as it sounds. Here’s how to unlock characters and tracks in Screamer.
How to unlock characters in Screamer
After playing through the initial story beats in Tournament mode and gaining access to the other modes, you only have access to the three racers from the Green Reapers Team.
The first method to unlock more characters is to continue playing through Tournament mode. Typically, you’ll unlock a character after completing your first race with them in this story mode. This includes the skippable team story episodes in between the main story episodes.
The second and potentially faster way to unlock characters is by defeating one in the Score Challenge mode. This mode pits you in a few different races, but the second one is specifically a 1v1 race. If you manage to score a higher score in this race and it’s a character you don’t have yet, you’ll unlock them.
How to unlock tracks in Screamer
Similar to the number of characters, you barely have any unlocked at the beginning of the game. They’re unlocked once you’ve raced on them.
That means the first method for unlocking tracks is to play through Tournament mode. Just as with characters, you’ll progressively unlock them as you play through the story. There are many episodes to play through, so this admittedly will take a bit of time.
Alternatively, you can unlock tracks by playing them in other modes. Score Challenge once again proves to be a decent choice. Since you’re given a choice between tracks for most of the races, you can keep choosing locked ones.
It might take some time to unlock everything, but at least you’ll have fun working towards that goal. If the game is feeling a little daunting, check out our 5 Starter Tips guide to steer things back into the fun lane.
