How to Perform Perfect Boosts in Screamer

Screamer is all about speed and aggression, with boosting being a vital way to surpass the competition. The most optimal version of these quick bursts of speed is called Perfect Boosts. The only problem is that using them is a little more involved than other titles.

Thankfully, it’s a system that’s easy to master. Whether you're stuck on a Tournament mode objective or want to make the most of the boosting system, we've got you covered.

How to perform a Perfect Boost in Screamer

The Boost system in Screamer works as a little timing minigame when you hold the Boost button (L1/LB) down. Letting go of the button when the white triangle is within the blue triangle will provide you with a regular boost.

You might assume that letting the button go once you’re past the yellow triangle would be the strategy, but that just gives you another regular boost. To perform a Perfect Boost, you need to let go of the Boost button right as the white triangle is about to overlap with the yellow triangle.

Yes, Perfect Boosts are the same as the “enhanced boost” that’s briefly mentioned early on in Tournament mode. Episode 8 is confusingly the first time the game labels it as Perfect Boost. Aim to have the triangles match to complete the Perfect Boost objective.

I recommend letting it go right before the triangles cover one another. The timing is pretty precise, and I’ve found that this method has let me land a Perfect Boost far more consistently.

You’ll know you performed it correctly if a filled-in yellow triangle briefly remains on the screen along with green electricity covering your car. Even more obvious of a tell is that the boost will last much longer than a normal one.

Mastering the Boost System to perform Perfect Boosts is a must. The length is very noticeable and being able to frequently do them will make a huge difference in your races. If you’re looking for more helpful pointers, check out our 5 Starter Tips guide.
