The time to embark on the journey starts this May 19th for PC players, as that’s when Elite Dangerous: Odyssey launches! This highly anticipated expansion is sure to keep players interested as it’s touted as the most ambitious one to date. It’ll allow commanders to explore planets on foot for the first time, offering new missions, and intense tactical combat. This offers new gameplay mechanics that’ll shake up the formula that players have gotten comfortable with over the last 7 years.
Players will also be able to customize their characters with different suits and gear options. Some are used in specific situations, such as the Remlok Maverick scavenger suit which is used on salvage missions. There’s also the addition of social hubs which can be accessed across the galaxy. These will serve as places for gamers to plan missions, form alliances, and acquire/upgrade their gear. It’s fantastic to see a game that’s been out for so long still being treated to huge game-changing upgrades. I can only wait to see how they made it all come together.
Elite Dangerous: Odyssey is available for pre-order for $39.99. The Deluxe Alpha version is still available at $54.99 and includes the Odyssey expansion, access to the Alpha (Ends 4/30), and the official soundtrack. Either pre-order grants players access to the exclusive Pioneer suit.
Elite Dangerous: Odyssey releases on PC, May 19th. It’ll also release on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One sometime this fall.
