ICYMI - THE SIGNIFIER: DIRECTOR'S CUT Is Out Now On PC And MAC

Last week, Playmestudio’s 2020 tech-noir psychological thriller, The Signifier hit digital store shelves yet again, this time in its definitive form. The Signifier: Director’s Cut takes everything players loved from the original version and adds brand new story and gameplay enhancements. This release is for PC and MAC but the game will also be hitting consoles sometime in 2021. Another notable set of enhancements are coming to the game’s performance area. Players can enjoy a smoother experience thanks to improved load times and frame rates.

All of this content is available for free to owners of the original version as well (Steam, GOG.com, and Humble Store)! Players that don’t already own the game but are interested in checking it out can download a new demo right now on Steam or GOG.com. If you’re still on the fence about it, definitely give the demo a try. It’s also worth noting that the game has won a bunch of awards such as “Best Game”, “Best Art Direction”, and “Best Narrative” at Brazil’s Independent Games Festival.

What you can expect to see in The Signifier: Director’s Cut:

  • Expanded story content featuring new memories, dialogue and voice-over, three added endings, and a new epilogue giving greater insight to key characters and choices.

  • Improved performance and experience, including better load times and frame rate, revamped animations and UI, and further optimizations for lower-end PCs.

  • Bonus gameplay features, including a new difficulty setting for those purely interested in experiencing the game’s story, plus new menu tips, clues, and remappable controls.

The Signifier: Director’s Cut will also be releasing on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One later this year.
