Re-Reck it Ralph
I love underrated games and while the original Kingdoms of Amalur had it share of shortcomings, corporate drama and pitfalls, it truly was a diamond in the rough. While the original game is still playable on multiple platforms, the wizards at THQ Nordic have brought us a fully featured, expanded, and touched up version of the original base game and all DLC on PC, Xbox One and PS4.
The PC version is similar to the original game but the graphics look more full and lush, ultrawide resolutions are supported, and overall the game just looks and feels more smooth. Granted, this is not a remake, it’s a fresh coat of paint. While fresh off the heels of Tony Hawk, one of the best remasters to date, Kingdoms is more like a massive patch and QoL improvement. Don’t expect an entirely new game although a brand new chunk of DLC, Fatesworth is coming for the game in 2021!
Whether you are new to the game or a die hard fan, you will find something you like with Amalur. It truly is a wonderful game and gets better the more you explore it’s deceptively massive world. Rogues, Mages, Warriors and hybrid classes are totally possible in this hidden gem ARPG. I had a blast digging back into this game that I have always enjoyed. Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning is available now. Check it out!
