As the release date continues to draw near, Big Bad Wolf Studio continues to drop more information about Vampire: The Masquerade - Swansong through developer diary videos. Along with this latest dev diary that covers the core elements of the game, their publisher NACON has also released a 60-second pitch video to tell you everything you need to know about the game in just one minute. The pitch video can be found at the bottom of this article.
This latest dev diary starts off with Eliott Hipeau, Lead Quest Designer at Big Bad Wolf, talking about what makes the game unique. With this game being a story-driven RPG, there will be various branching storylines depending on the player's choices but also on how they shape the game's three vampire heroes. Every player can use the character sheets to determine their heroes' strengths as well as level up their skills and vampiric Disciplines in a unique way. This opens up fresh approaches to solving problems and moves the story forward in a specific direction.
All the action takes place in Boston, where vampires live among mortals, hiding their monstrous nature. The social interactions stemming from this dynamic are central to the game, forcing the player to use their heroes' powers to cover their tracks and convince others to reveal their secrets. The RPG component takes on even more significance because every NPC has their own statistics, so the player must use their skills and Disciplines to gain the upper hand in "dialogue fight."
Vampire: The Masquerade - Swansong is set to release on May 19th for PC via Epic Games Store, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. Do you have what it takes to live in the undercity as a Vampire?
