WRC 9 is getting a plethora of brand new free post-launch updates, bringing sweet new features to the game! It’s been out for about a month or so now but it’s still giving great content to its players even after the fact. Gamers will now be able to enjoy some more special stages, a new driver, and Photo Mode available right now! 6 new special stages have been added to Neste Rally Finland, the fastest rally of the season. Racers will have to really focus on those pacenotes to keep themselves on point to cross that finish line. The new playable driver is Hayden Paddon of New Zealand and he’s brought his co-driver, John Kennard, along with him, behind the wheel of his the celebrated Hyundai i20 WRC. As for Photo Mode, players will be able to snap fantastic shots of their favorite in-game moments and share them.
The next up-coming update will finally give players the highly anticipated, Co-driver Mode which puts 2 players in a car together, with one behind the wheel and the other calling pacenotes in real-time. That is sure to be quite an experience, I’m sure. In addition to these updates is some more information on WRC 9’s next-gen versions. WRC 9 will be coming to the PlayStation 5 in just a few days on Thursday, November 12th when the console officially launches! It’ll have enhanced 4K graphics and run at 60 frames per second! It also features new haptic features exclusive to the DualSense controller that Sony has developed. You’ll get to feel the difference between asphalt, gravel, and snow thanks to the controller’s different vibration mechanics happening within it. There are a bunch of other things going on with the DualSense controller, so you’ll get to see more once you get out onto the road.
A side note for those who own the game on PlayStation 4 currently, you’re entitled to a free upgrade of the game on your PS5 at launch! The game will also be releasing on the Xbox Series X/S consoles but it has yet to be stated exactly when that is slated for.
