During the holiday season, developers tend to release some free content or updates for players who are still out there enjoying their games. This can come in many forms and each developer likes to do things their own way, but no matter how it is done, it is always nice to see these teams are still keeping their fan base in mind. So let’s go over some of the free content being made available to you during the 2019 holiday season.
Man of Medan
The first title of The Dark Pictures Anthology’s choice-based horror game series is giving the chance for those who purchase the game, or already have the game, to get in the holiday spirit of coming together. Instead of venturing through the game alone, take on the two-player action by taking advantage of the Friend’s Pass that is going to be available until January 6th!
This complimentary Friend’s Pass, giving them one full playthrough of Shared Story Mode with a friend who doesn’t own the full game. To redeem the free Friend’s Pass for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, new players need only download the Man of Medan Free Trial, and then be invited to play the Shared Story Mode by someone who already owns the full version of the game. To redeem the free Friend’s Pass for Steam, please see instructions in the recent announcements on the game’s official Steam page. Keep in mind, the Friend’s Pass will no longer be usable after completing one playthrough of the Shared Story.
In addition, The Curator's Cut, an alternative viewpoint that provides additional content after completing the main story, is now available for everyone to enjoy!
HITMAN 2
IO Interactive has released a 2019 December Roadmap that is full of free content for players to take advantage of, including the permanent return of the Holiday Hoarders and Snow Festival seasonal events. Completing the Holiday Hoarders mission in Paris will allow players to unlock the fan-favorite Santa 47 Suit, while the Snow Festival mission in Hokkaido will include two different unlocks, the Snow Festival Suit and Ice Pick.
