While we were all anticipating the Kojima Productions gameplay feature for Death Stranding, it was nice to see a new actual trailer for the game as well. This one showing off the last two characters of the main story line in a trailer simply titled “Briefing,” we also got a nice breakdown of the over arch of the story itself. The seriousness of the story has been solidified and expanded from something as simple as maintaining a delivery company to the reestablishment of civilization in America.
I expected the story to have a dark tone to it, but the pure somber atmosphere that this trailer gives off just makes me wonder what kind of note they plan to leave us off with. Will we reach the end of the game and be pumped up for a sequel, have a positive and satisfied conclusion, or are we looking at an upsetting story line filled with action and adventure in between? We won’t know until after November 8th when it launches on the PlayStation 4, but the speculations can be narrowed down.
At least things aren’t as confusing as they were leading up to the Tokyo Game Show 2019 premier and we have a more grounded understanding of what it is we are doing with Bridges and the overall goal of the game.
