We’ve finally been getting more updates on Pokémon Legends: Z-A over the past few weeks, and I think my favorite announcement so far came this morning. In a short animation, Pokémon revealed a brand new Mega Evolution for Hawlucha—a Generation 6 Pokémon that often gets overlooked—and it’s safe to say the spotlight suits him.
The design is straightforward but striking, leaning even more heavily into Hawlucha’s Mexican luchador roots. He now sports a more dazzling cape along with an ornate mask and chest piece that give him the flair of a true showman. It captures the theatrical spirit of Mexican wrestling perfectly, and I absolutely love it. Fans seem to share that excitement too, and the reception has been overwhelmingly positive, a welcome change after some mixed reactions to past reveals. Honestly, I can already see Hawlucha securing a spot on my Z-A team this October.
