The story line for the next chapter in the Mortal Kombat series brings a new foe, Kronika, who can control time itself. As the keeper of time, she has signaled for a new era to begin as she tries to rewind time to its beginning and restart history. In order to restore balance to the realms, players must take on the role of numerous fighters from different eras, culminating in the ultimate generational clash as current characters collide with their past selves.
Featuring a mix of cinematic moments and actual gameplay, you can see new and old era versions of multiple characters. Every character you see in the launch trailer will be a playable character in NetherRealm Studios Mortal Kombat 11! This is making for the largest roster to date in Mortal Kombat history.
As someone who always thought the Mortal Kombat story lines were far-fetched or simply cheesy, I have to admit that this is quite an interesting plot they have here. I am certainly interested to seeing how it all plays out and what elements fighting through various eras in time will bring to both the story and gameplay itself.
At least the wait won’t be long now since Mortal Kombat 11 is set to launch on April 23rd for the PC, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One! What do you think of the story line proposed for this new chapter in the Mortal Kombat series?
