The first Corrupted Gate you’ll likely enter is the one in the Mushroom Village in Mortal Shell 2. Once you make it past the slew of enemies, you’ll eventually face off against Magdalena, the Lady of the Woods. This boss fight can be difficult if you can’t keep up with her high mobility and fire attacks, so let’s discuss how to beat Magdalena in Mortal Shell 2.
Magdalena boss fight guide in Mortal Shell 2
The best way to survive the Magdalena boss fight in Mortal Shell 2 is to equip the Burnt Effigy for burn mitigation and use a fast weapon like the Axe & Dagger. Since Magdalena moves around a lot in her wheelchair, you likely won’t have time to swing a slower weapon like a two-handed sword or axe.
You can equip the Burnt Effigy either as a Passive or Active item. It’s best when used as a Passive, since it grants you +15% Burn mitigation throughout the entire fight. This passive is useful when she spins in a circle and surrounds herself with flames.
Even if you dodge in time, stepping on the leftover flames will burn you. Still, you can dodge over the fire, and you should be able to avoid catching fire. Use the time that she’s standing in the ring of fire to lay some hits on her before stepping back.
Magdalena will also try driving into you, so dodge at the last second to avoid getting hit. Using the Tiel Shell during this fight can be super helpful, as he can turn into a Shadow when performing a perfect dodge, which leaves him invisible and enemies open to a hidden attack.
Tiel can also use his ability to strike Magdalena from the shadows, which will stagger her and allow you to perform a Riposte attack. This attack deals a ton of damage, so make sure to stagger her whenever you can.
When Magdalena is at low health, she’ll summon a swarm of wasps. It’s hard to avoid, and if hit, they’ll slowly eat away at your health. She’ll also try throwing bombs of these bug swarms at you, but these are just as easy to avoid.
Once you finally take her down, you’ll be rewarded with Magdalena’s Memento, a Tarstone that lets you consume 100 Resolve to unleash a flurry of strikes.
