If you're anything like me, you're always on the lookout for the next Indie game gem. Lucky for you, I got an exclusive scoop on some of the most promising-looking games coming from up-and-coming devs and studios.
Make sure to wishlist any of these that interest you, as it is a huge help to the developers, and will bring these games to you quicker!
Combat Pay - Interplanetary Extraction Co-op
A genre I feel does not get nearly enough attention is the extraction shooter, but Combat Pay looks like it might finally bring something exciting to that space. This cooperative third-person extraction shooter puts you and your squad in the roles of gritty mercenaries, completing dangerous contracts in the middle of a brutal war between planets.
As you finish missions and collect your earnings, you will unlock bigger, stronger, and more advanced gear—equipment that becomes essential as your contracts grow in difficulty. You will start by taking down small-time bandit groups, but eventually find yourselves assaulting heavily defended planetary bases. The further your reputation spreads, the more intense and rewarding the jobs become.
The game gives off some Helldivers energy in the best way, while still offering its own original mechanics and identity. It blends team-based action with strategic choices and risk versus reward gameplay in a way that really stands out.
I am definitely excited to bring the squad back together, suit up, and chase after some high-value targets. A playable demo for Combat Pay is on the way, so if this sounds like your kind of mission, be sure to add it to your Steam wishlist here and follow the developer’s YouTube channel for updates.
Wildaria: Procedurally Generated Creature-Catcher
If you know anything about me, you know I am a huge Pokémon fan. So when I heard about a new creature taming game, I had to check it out. Wildaria looks like a fantastic blend of Pokémon with a touch of Realm of the Mad God vibes, two games I have spent countless hours on.
The game takes place in a procedurally generated world, putting a big emphasis on exploration and travel, which makes it all the more exciting. You will encounter countless monsters to battle, explore many dungeons, meet tons of NPCs, and wander through a variety of towns, all while discovering creatures you can tame to fight and journey alongside.
It also looks like a lot of fun to play with a group of friends, teaming up to tackle challenges and explore the world together. The team behind Wildaria seems to be crafting something special. If you are intrigued, go wishlist the game and give the demo a try!
