Reoccurring players of the Monster Hunter World: Iceborne expansion are in for a new set of challenges as the latest free update added to the game takes them back to the old world to face off the mysterious legendary Black Dragon Fatalis. This legendary enemy isn’t all that is awaiting to challenge them in this update either. You can hear everything that is coming in Capcom’s developer diary above and check out a quick breakdown below to prepare yourself.
While there is no record of where the Black Dragon Fatalis came from nor it’s connection to the blighted Castle Schrade that was destroyed in a calamity known only to legend, there’s no denying that previous squads have failed to return from the castle. In light of this, the Guild has dispatched the General to enlist the Research Commission to investigate the area. That means that Hunters of the Fifth Fleet bold enough to accept the assignment should prepare for a battle that will make history, and to be rewarded with top-tier armor, weapons, and Palico gear to match.
Then, on October 16th, Hunters will find two new limited-time events available for them to face. The first of these is the challenging assault of Arch-Tempered Velkhana as part of a limited-time event quest. This more powerful form of the flagship Elder Dragon packs a tempest of frigid attacks for Hunters to contend with or end up buried beneath the avalanche of blows.
Secondly, from October 16 through November 5, Seliana’s Lunar Terrace will be decorated like a graveyard bash for the new seasonal Fun Fright Festival. Along with multitudes of costumes and gear for the whole Gathering Hub to join in on, Hunters looking to scare up some fun can redeem tickets from log-in bonuses, seasonal bounties, and event quests to obtain the new Demonlord α+ armor, and new layered armor such as the Skull Scarf, Kadachi Scarf, and more.
Other than these challenges and events, players can find a few gameplay adjustments that have been made to improve the overall gameplay experience. Along with this, you can find that there are some new cosmetic and useful paid DLC’s to choose from.
