With the Nintendo Direct Showcase, a new trailer of Harvestella for the Nintendo Switch has dropped. It gives a little more insight into the lore and gameplay of the Square Enix title, where JRPG meets farming sim head-on. That’s not all, a free demo is available for the Switch, letting players get their first glimpse of the world.
The setting of Harvestella is a land whose balance is maintained by the Seaslight, four great crystals that govern the seasons. At the end of the season comes the dangerous Quietus, which brings with it death and the withering of crops. As Quietus has started to become longer and longer, the world is put in danger, and a group of heroes set out to try and find a way to stop it.
Time is spent both on the farm, building up to an adventure, and setting out with a party of committed heroes to discover the source of this season of death. Befriending the locals, fishing, and making buns contrast with battles against huge monsters and saving the world from a terrible dark force.
Harvestella will be available for the Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam from the 4th of November this year. Switch players can get their hands on a free demo right now, via the Nintendo eShop. For those interested, you can still pre-order prior to launch.
