Newest Retro Shooter PRODEUS Has Launch Date

Retro shooters have become a massively popular sub-genre amongst first-person shooter fans. Proven time and time again through excellently crafted games, this sub-genre of pixels and bullets has garnered a ton of attention, especially through a number of highly anticipated upcoming releases. One of which is Prodeus developed by Bounding Box Software and published by Humble Games.

This retro guts blaster is designed by industry veterans and hardcore fans alike. Finally, after emerging from Early Access, Prodeus is officially launching and giving players the opportunity to play it out in its full glory. One of the great elements of Prodeus is that it combines all the gameplay refinement and feel of a modern shooter while giving it a coat of retro paint. This allows for that super smooth gameplay while also giving that kick of retro aesthetics.

Some of the more modern elements added here include community-crafted levels which allow for those players with a creative flair to go nuts designing maps and custom levels for their friends and the wider community to play. Also, included is a heart-pumping metal soundtrack that is composed by Andrew Hulshult, popular for his work on DOOM Eternal. A trailer featuring the soundtrack along can be found below.

Prodeus is going to give so much to the retro shooter fan that we really can't wait any longer to get our grubby mitts on it! Prodeus officially launches on September 23rd for PC via Steam, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, Xbox SeriesX|S, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. Be sure to check out the brand new trailer above and let us know in the comments if you’ll be jumping into Prodeus.
