Nintendo seems to be making all the right moves lately. On the heels of the massive success of Pokemon Go, the gaming giant surprised the world today with the announcement of the NES Mini...

According to Engadget, the console will be in stores this November, and run at a price of $59.99. That price includes everything you need to hook up the console (with the inclusion of an HDMI cable), one controller, and 30 pre-loaded games. The line-up is pretty impressive...
Balloon Fight, Bubble Bobble, Castlevania, Castlevania II: Simon's Quest, Donkey Kong, Donkey Kong Jr., Double Dragon II: The Revenge, Dr. Mario, Excitebike, Final Fantasy, Galaga, Ghosts' N Ghoblins, Gradius, Ice Climber, Kid Icarus, Kirby's Adventure, Mario Bros., Mega Man 2, Metroid, Ninja Gaiden, Pac-Man, Punch-Out!! Featuring Mr. Dream, StarTropics, SUPER C, Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros. 2, Super Mario Bros. 3, Tecmo Bowl, The Legend of Zelda and Zelda II: The Adventure of Link.
Pretty much every game you've wanted to play on the NES for years will be on there! Seriously I'm having trouble thinking of a title (minus Contra) that people would need other than the 30 listed!
On the downside, the smaller console likely means that one will not be able to put classic NES cartridges in the console. On the plus side, basically every game you want to play is already on there so what does it matter? Also, the addition of an HDMI cord will make potential streaming on Twitch much easier and far less costly than purchasing a Retron!
Can I be the first to say it's about time Nintendo did this! Don't get me wrong, I love the Virtual Console aspect of Nintendo, but sometimes people just want the game's without purchasing your latest offering. Those people shouldn't be punished because they don't want a Wii-U.
Now my head is reeling over the prospect of a SNES mini and N64 mini! Can't wait to pick this up in November!
