The classic tabletop roleplaying game Twilight: 2000 is returning in a big way!
Free League Publishing, the makers of award-winning RPGs, in partnership with Game Designers’ Workshop is bringing back the retro game for a whole new look at the post-apocalyptic world from the popular series. It’s back to the end of the world as the WWIII that never was has set this alternate timeline off toward an uncertain future where the Soviet Union is still around and the devastation is all over.
Free League Publishing is riding a big wave of success from their recent ENNIES sweep and the Kickstarter for Twilight: 2000 is going strong. The RPG was fully funded in less than 10 minutes, and now more than 4000 backers have pledged over $300,000 dollars to make this happen. The campaign is currently unlocking a lot of stretch goals to further reward backers and make for an exciting fulfillment date next summer.
The RPG will release as a boxed set with an homage to the original Poland map, as well as two full-color books—the Players' Manual and the Referee's Manual. If you missed my review of the ALIEN RPG, then be aware that the production value on rulebooks and game components from Free League Publishing is fantastic.
Backers can choose from a digital pledge level and two physical pledge levels in the campaign. Stay tuned to the Kickstarter to see what other stretch goals unlock, and keep an eye on GameTyrant for more tabletop gaming news!
