Overwatch has pulled their newest feature for hardcore players ahead of the game's open beta. Game Informer tells us Blizzard pulled it's competitive play mode after receiving feedback from those who have been playing the beta. While it's likely most players wouldn't have reached the level 25 cap in the four-day open beta, it looks like the mode's exclusion was instead to rework the mode entirely.
Mind you this won't affect the release date of Overwatch, but it's likely competitive play will not reappear until sometime after the game's launch. Overall, not terrible news, but not exactly great news to hear when you're going into a beta. Hopefully, this does not affect the overall community in the game. Things can get toxic quick if hardcore and casual are forced to play in the same servers!
