Planet Coaster 2: Parades Pack Spotlight

The latest Planet Coaster 2 DLC is here, and the Parades Pack finally brings… well… parades!

That alone would have been enough to make this pack exciting, but Frontier has added quite a bit more here. Along with the brand-new parade system, the DLC includes a small town theme, two new coasters, two flat rides, and an electric trolley transport ride. For me, this pack is a huge hit and adds that extra bit of life and spectacle that Planet Coaster 2 has been missing.

What Comes In The Planet Coaster 2 Parades Pack?

The Planet Coaster 2: Parades Pack includes:

  • Parades

  • A new Small Town theme

  • HPC Buzzard single rail coaster

  • V&N Narrow Drop Coaster

  • Jumpin’ Disc flat ride

  • Little Dipper flat ride

  • Electric Trolley transport ride

It’s a pretty strong lineup overall, especially because the pack adds new creative tools alongside rides that can fit into a wide range of parks.

Parades

Parades are honestly something I’m surprised wasn’t added sooner, but I’m also sure this took time to implement properly without it completely eating up performance. Either way, I’m very happy they’re finally here.

The pack comes with a fully built parade blueprint, which gives players an easy way to drop one into their park and start building a parade or small town area around it. However, the more exciting part is that the pack also gives players the resources to build their own floats from scratch.

That’s where I think this pack is going to shine long-term. Planet Coaster players are already wildly creative, so giving them the ability to build custom parade floats feels like something that will lead to some incredible creations. I can’t wait to see what the community ends up making with these tools.

Small Town Theme

The Small Town theme is another addition I’ve been waiting for. I recently started building a replica Disneyland, and this theme is going to make building something inspired by Main Street, U.S.A. so much easier.

It’s a great theme because it feels familiar, cozy, and very customizable. It gives players a lot of pieces that can be used for classic theme park entrances, charming downtown-style areas, or even more realistic park builds.

One of my favorite additions in this pack is the ambient sound options. You can add audio around your park to create an extra layer of immersion, and if you really want to go all in, you can connect speakers around your park to the parade so the music matches the float as it passes by. That’s the kind of small detail that makes a park feel alive.

Coasters

The Parades Pack adds two new coasters, and I’m very happy with both of them: the HPC Buzzard and the V&N Narrow Drop.

HPC Buzzard

The HPC Buzzard is a single rail coaster where guests ride in single-seat cars through high speeds, sharp turns, and big inversions.

It seems clearly inspired by the RMC Raptor-style coasters, similar to Wonder Woman Flight of Courage at Six Flags Magic Mountain. I love the look of these coasters, even if in real life they can be a bit hit-or-miss for me. The single rail design lets the track pull off incredibly tight turns and aggressive layouts, which should make it a great fit for players who love building intense thrill rides.

I fully expect players who build parks for true thrill seekers to have a lot of fun with this one.

V&N Narrow Drop

The second coaster is the V&N Narrow Drop, a dive coaster with stadium-style seating that does exactly what the name suggests: it suspends riders over a steep drop before releasing them into the ride.

This coaster is clearly inspired by B&M Dive Coasters, like Emperor at SeaWorld San Diego. Personally, I love B&M coasters. Tatsu is one of my favorite roller coasters of all time, and I actually have a personal goal to experience as many B&M coasters as possible in my lifetime.

Because of that, I’m very excited to have something like this in Planet Coaster 2. I will almost definitely be adding at least one V&N Narrow Drop to every park I build from now on, and I think players are going to create some really impressive layouts with it.

Flat Rides

I always love when Planet Coaster 2 adds new flat rides. They’re great for filling empty space, helping with park flow, and sometimes they’re exactly what you need to get the creative juices flowing. They’re also very helpful when playing challenge mode, since flat rides are a reliable way to start generating cash.

This pack includes two new flat rides: Jumpin’ Disc and Little Dipper.

Jumpin’ Disc

The Jumpin’ Disc is the kind of ride you can find at plenty of theme parks, boardwalks, and even temporary events like county fairs. It’s a pretty standard ride type, but it looks great in-game and offers a lot of customization potential.

I’m already planning to build it into a UFO for my sci-fi areas, and I’m sure other players will find plenty of creative ways to theme it. While I do like this addition, I think the second flat ride is the more exciting one overall.

Little Dipper

I love, love, love, love, love the Little Dipper.

One of the first parks I started building was a Knott’s Berry Farm replica, and things got difficult once I reached Camp Snoopy because there simply weren’t enough kids rides to work with. That’s why the Little Dipper feels like such a welcome addition.

Planet Coaster 2 has needed more family and children’s rides, and this is a great step in the right direction. I really hope we see even more of these smaller-scale attractions very soon, because they make parks feel more complete and realistic.

Electric Trolley Transport Ride

I’ll be honest: I don’t build with transport rides very often. I tend to build pretty flat parks because I’m not the greatest with terraforming, so transport rides usually end up being forgotten in my builds.

That being said, I really like the look of the Electric Trolley. It fits the Small Town theme perfectly and could be a great way to add movement and charm to a park. I may end up placing it around the outside of one of my parks just so guests can traverse the area faster while also giving the park a more classic, lived-in feeling.

Feedback

Overall, this pack is great. It adds a lot of things I’ve personally been wanting, while also including a few surprises that fit the game really well. Parades are the obvious highlight, but the Small Town theme, the Little Dipper, and the new coaster types all make this feel like a very well-rounded DLC.

That said, one part of Planet Coaster 2 still feels forgotten: the water parks.

I would have loved to see some Small Town-themed water park additions, even if they were just blueprints, decorations, or a few new pieces to better connect water park areas to the rest of the DLC. Since water parks are such a major part of Planet Coaster 2, it’s a little disappointing to see them left out again here.

Final Thoughts

The Planet Coaster 2: Parades Pack is easily one of my favorite DLC additions so far. Parades bring a new layer of spectacle to the game, the Small Town theme is incredibly useful, and the new rides all feel like strong additions to the overall sandbox.

The HPC Buzzard and V&N Narrow Drop give thrill builders new toys to play with, while the Little Dipper helps fill a much-needed gap for family and kids areas. Even the Electric Trolley feels like a charming addition that could make parks feel more alive.

I still wish the water park side of the game got a little more attention, but that doesn’t take away from how much this pack adds. If you’ve been waiting for Planet Coaster 2 to feel a little more lively, charming, and theme park-authentic, the Parades Pack is absolutely worth checking out.
