Breakups suck at the best of times, but they become a whole lot worse when they’re publicized on social media. This is especially true in Land of Screens, the latest release from developer Serenity Forge and publisher Way Down Deep. When our protagonist Holland’s breakup with her boyfriend of five years begins to trend on social media, she knows she needs to get away from screens for a while. And it’s your job as the player to help!
Land of Screens is a stylized point-and-click adventure title that players will need to navigate in order to help Holland put the phone down and keep it down, at least until the breakup blows over. Much to her surprise, there are plenty of adventures awaiting her outside the confines of social media. She just needs a little help finding them. Talking to an actual face for once? Brave.
Get ready to guide Holland through awkward family reunions, small talk with total strangers, and friends you haven’t seen since high school. Maybe by helping Holland you’ll learn some tips to keep your own social media addiction at bay!
Land of Screens is available now on Nintendo Switch and PC. You can visit the game’s website or Steam page to learn more.
