Hacking and blasting through Pragmata is a fun endeavour, but you’ll soon find yourself hitting a very noticeable ceiling if you just hoard your Lunafilament. Thankfully, Capcom’s action-adventure game provides the solution: the Unit Printer.
In simple terms, this is your gateway to feeling overpowered and almost invincible. The trick, though, other than farming resources, is the order of your picks. Look no further, here are the best Unit Printer upgrades you’ll want to buy first.
Which Unit Printer upgrades should you buy first?
All Unit Printer upgrades are divided into four groups:
Weapons
Hacking
Abilities
Attachments
I’d personally recommend you spend your Lunafilament and Pure Lunum across all four categories equally, but focusing early in the Abilities tab is a great choice while you grow accustomed to how the game plays.
Still, these are the upgrades you should be focusing on during the early game:
Weapons
Shockwave Gun: This is essentially your shotgun. Use it to take down higher-tier robots or destroy the regular ones should you find yourself in a pickle.
Stasis Net: A Tactical weapon, the Stasis Net freezes robots where they stand. In situations where things get tense due to the enemy population, which happens often, using this weapon is a great way to handle crowd control.
Hacking
Decode: Passing through this node will translate into more damage dealt to robots. Don’t hesitate to upgrade it.
Multihack: This node will become very handy as enemies begin to swarm you. Basically, you save yourself some time by only hacking one robot, triggering a sort of domino effect that will expose the insides of the surrounding machines next to it.
Abilities
Fast Moves: Dodge as the enemy attacks, and you will slow down time. That way, you’ll have a window to shoot at the incoming robots who are adamant on killing you.
Object Scan: You need to purchase this as soon as it becomes available. The scanning ability is by far the most useful one in the game, as it will show almost all collectibles in the Cradle levels.
Critical Shot: Later on, you can focus your Lunafilament on this ability. Basically, a Critical Shot node might appear when a robot’s health is low, allowing you to deliver the coup de grâce. Combine this with the Collateral Damage Mod, and you’ll also damage nearby enemies after the final shot.
Attachments
Thruster Charges: Basically, for each new level purchased, you’ll earn an extra dodge. This will come in handy once you deal with the most lethal robots in the Cradle, so you'd better start investing in this early on.
Mod Slot / Node Slot: These two attachments work essentially the same. Purchase a level, and you’ll have an extra mod or node slot, allowing you to have more tools to deal with enemies.
Pragmata is available now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC.
