You read that right, Fireshine Games and ColePowered Games are ready to release their highly ambitious detective sim to the public via Steam Early Access. Shadows of Doubt gained big attention during Steam’s Next Fest and provided a “short” game demo. Players take on the role of a detective in a sandbox city that is procedurally generated. The sci-fi noir city of crime is filled with corruption and unsolved cases just waiting for your attention.
Players will have to think like a private investigator and take on jobs to earn cash, all whilst attempting to catch a serial killer in the robust noir cityscape. If you fail to catch them, they will kill again and again. Shadows of Doubt seems like a truly ambitious title, having not only the city, but the people and the cases themselves fully procedurally generated. It sounds like a sandbox investigator's heaven, but time will tell how well it is implemented once the Steam Early Access begins.
Shadows of Doubt launches on Steam Early Access on April 24th for PC via Steam.
