During the last PlayStation Showcase, nDreams filled a slot with their release date trailer for their upcoming next-generation, virtual reality shooter game Synapse. It was also confirmed that it will be launching exclusively on PlayStation VR2 via PlayStation 5. On top of that, we now know of a couple of stars that will be featured in the game as well.
The new trailer gave players get a fresh look at the game’s dual-wielding gameplay alongside a first glimpse of the game’s intriguing narrative that places them inside the twisted mind of a villain during a high-stakes mission to prevent a catastrophic attack.
As for the stars, they have two notable names in the cast:
David Hayter, known as the voice of Snake from Metal Gear Solid and acclaimed screenwriter of X-Men and Watchmen, plays Colonel Peter Conrad, a once respected black ops leader who has since gone rogue and become a notorious enemy of the state.
Jennifer Hale, known voice acting credits include Commander Shepherd in Mass Effect and Rivet in Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart,, plays Handler Clara Sorensen, a director of the ultra-secretive Bureau V. Sorensen is the player’s sole link to the outside world from within the Colonel’s mind and acts as a guide through his warped subconscious.
This isn’t the first time these two voice actors are working together either. Hale was the voice of Naomi Hunter in Metal Gear Solid making her talents directly collaborated with Hayter thanks to that iconic series. Perhaps these two will also be working together more after Synapse now that the Metal Gear Solid Remakes are starting.
Synapse is set to launch on July 4th for PSVR2. Are you excited to see what the next generation of VR shooter games will look like?
