Quick VR Review Roundup: DUNGEONS OF ETERNITY, CREED BOXING VR, & JOURNEY TO FOUNDATION

NOTE FROM THE EDITOR: We here at GameTyrant have been absolutely bombarded with so many games this year. We will be rolling out select quick reviews to let our audience know about games and DLC that may have slipped under their radar. We appreciate the amazing support from all publishers and developers out there!

NOTE FROM THE WRITER: All review keys for the games below were graciously provided by the game publishers.

Dungeons of Eternity - Available now

Dungeons of Eternity is the name and hack-n-slash is the game. This game is a dungeon crawler to the core, and it delivers in almost every way. You can play solo or co-op with two other people, you load up together or solo at the hub where you have your room where you can equip new weapons or upgrades to yourself. Then on the missions table that is something out of a Sci-Fi movie you can select one of three types of rooms from one of four different areas. You have the classic dungeon raid, a round based soul collector, and a crystal protection game where you will collect crystals and then try to protect them as they are attacked by waves of enemies.

This game, is hectic, it’s fun, and I can definitely see the game being more fun with friends. With a few updates (which will already be solved) this game can easily be a time killing machine.

Creed: Rise To Glory - Available Now

Now that I've rinsed off all the sweat, let's dive into Creed: Rise to Glory. This game is a blast if you're into fitness. But if you're grabbing it because you're a fan of the movie or just like watching boxing, and you're expecting a laid-back VR experience… good luck with that! In this game, you're not just a spectator; you're the star, the VR-wearing champ.

Get ready to hit the training sessions, throw punches in the ring, and, most importantly, break a sweat. The training montages are a good time, especially when you crank up the intensity in fitness mode. However, the real action happens in the boxing matches. They may be short, especially if you're taking a beating, but if you really get into it, this game is surprisingly enjoyable for a fitness-focused experience. Also in the PVP mode you can box other people, and wow is it hilarious. Just two people who have clearly never boxed a day in their life throwing haymakers at each other. I need side by side video footage of me and whoever I was boxing with.

Journey To Foundation - Available Now

Queue COPS theme in space. Journey to Foundation is a very story driven VR experience with some rinse, wash, and repeat gameplay that works at times. There’s some really cool visuals and a lot of good voice acting but the gameplay isn’t upheld to the same standards as the story. Some scenes are dragged out way too long and the fact that it’s VR you’re able to zone out and kind of just dismiss when people are talking. The whole detective thing, being able to read peoples minds, and decision making stuff all works out really well but the gunplay feels like something that belongs in an arcade machine. If things were kept a little more brief I think it would be a lot better.

All games above are available on the Meta App Store.
