I have many fond memories of Red Dead Redemption back on the Xbox 360 and even booted it up recently on the Xbox Series X to get that 4K goodness, and to saddle back up into the stunning world that Rockstar created over 14 (!) years ago.. With the PC port now available for a ghastly asking price of $50, it’s nice to have all these goodies on PC but a few massive questions remain:
Why did this take 14 years to get a port? Yes it has 4k and 60+ FPS support but other than that, it still look and plays like the original game.
Why is this $50? It doesn’t seem to have received many extras or even that many enhancements compared to the $30 version that is still available for the XSX
Why was this not truly remastered or better yet, remade? The RDR2 engine is already in existence or at least upscale the textures and assets.
So, if you’re a fan of nostalgia and reliving old favorites, you might also enjoy exploring games of chance and excitement online. For instance, platforms like https://realgambling.ca/reviews/jackpot-city-casino offer a similar blend of familiar thrills with modern enhancements, appealing to both seasoned and new players alike.
In the end, like many recent PC ports out there, this is still as stellar game but a bare-minimum effort port that should have been out at least 10 years back. Is it worth $50? I don’t believe so but I am sure it will still sell like hotcakes.
