One of the best things to see from developers when it comes to picking up a game that is in early access has to be a roadmap. Knowing what is to come and the plans developers have for their game is comforting since we have to put money in to gain access to the game in its early build state.
After having a demo that made GameTyrant’s Top 5 from the Summer Steam Next Fest, Wales Interactive is ready to get their game into the hands of players so they can squad up and start taking down the horrors of Sker Ritual. While the game’s initial launch will be solely on PC via Steam, they are releasing quite a bit of content with this initial early access launch on October 13th.
Upon release, the game will have Episode One which contains the very first map 'Cursed Lands of Lavernock.' The map will feature all objectives, trials, and a boss fight with the only major feature missing being some of their top secret Easter Eggs. There will also be a Sker Pass, which is a completely free cosmetic reward system with absolutely no premium pass option, just like games used to be. The Sker Pass will launch with 50 free items and each Episode update will offer 25 new items to unlock. Of course, there will also be optional bundles of themed cosmetic items that will be available to purchase separately.
Sker Ritual is planned to launch with a reduced rate of $14.99 / £11.39 / €12,49. This price point will be raised when the finished game releases, which is planned to be sometime in Q2 2023 on both PC and consoles. If you plan to get in on the action, don’t forget to check out their Discord to find players to team up with!
From the initial release, players can expect at least three more episodes to be released, all with their themes already picked out. Each episode will be a new map update with the added bonus of some Sker story (with some voice acting) that follows on from the events of Maid of Sker. Each episode will add tons of new content including new maps, Elites, Bosses, objectives, trials, easter eggs, and weapons. Plus you'll get major gameplay updates on the Miracles system, an in-game communication system and so much more. With the initial launch set for this October, the second episode ‘The Ashes of Sker Hotel’ is planned for December, the third episode ‘Sewers of the Dead’ is planned for February, and the third episode ‘Deadly Lover's Fortress’ is planned for April.
