We got some awesome reveals at the 2022 Game Awards last night, one of which was the newest trailer for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League as well as the official announcement of its release date. We previously covered the last trailer release Suicide Squad had at last year’s Game Awards here. For anyone who doesn’t know Suicide Squad will be Rocksteady Studios and Warner Bros Games fifth main game in the Arkham Asylum series, it will also be the first where Batman is not the main protagonist. The game will feature the titular Suicide Squad in an action-adventure third-person shooter where they will fight the Justice League and presumably kill them.
As seen in past trailers, members of the Justice League have suddenly become evil or violent, now it is up to the Suicide Squad to fix the problem. In the new trailer, we see the squad after they have beaten the Flash when Batman shows up. But there’s just one problem, Batman might be there but he’s not really Batman anymore. The trailer ends with a tribute to the recently deceased Kevin Conroy, the beloved actor who passed away last month. As the iconic voice of the Caped Crusader in the Batman: Arkham videogame series, Batman: The Animated Series, and countless other DC projects, Conroy returns to Rocksteady’s Arkhamverse one final time and reprises his role as Batman in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.
