Abbey Games, in collaboration with Firesquid, has something special in store for strategy gaming enthusiasts. The highly anticipated sequel to 2013's Reus, aptly named Reus 2, is making its grand debut in demo form at Steam's Strategy Fest, commencing on August 28th. This event marks the first opportunity for players to dive into the world of Reus 2 since its official announcement back in May.
In Reus 2, players assume the role of formidable giants entrusted with the task of nurturing planets to guide humanity's progress. Beyond cultivating planets, players can also explore the fate of humanity by crafting multiple worlds and observing how different civilizations shape their surroundings. To succeed, players must meticulously plan and strategize ways to foster life, developing thriving ecosystems and biomes. Should their attempts fail, a fresh start with a new civilization is always an option.
Players participating in the demo at Strategy Fest will enjoy 45 minutes to 1.5 hours of content, set on their initial planet. This early glimpse introduces the game's core mechanics through a tutorial and provides a taste of the forthcoming content. The demo offers players the chance to shape their planet using the Taiga, Desert, and Ocean biomes, spanning the first two eras of human development. Additionally, players will control three giants; rock, swamp, and ocean. The full game promises more content, including new and familiar giants. The developers have released this demo to gather feedback and offer a preview of what Reus 2 has in store as it approaches its launch.
Reus 2 will be released soon, but currently, the demo is available during the Steam 2023 Strategy Fest here.
