Marvel Vs. Capcom 4 will be announced during PlayStation Experience this week in Anaheim and will release sometime in 2017. Polygon reports they have multiple sources confirming the news, and says Capcom will be making the announcement alongside their Street Fighter V tournament.
From the rumor, it sounds like we can expect our Marvel heroes to resemble the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which sounds to be a double-edged sword. While characters like Groot, Doctor Strange, and Star Lord are fair game...it appears that characters not currently owned by Marvel will not make an appearance. That means no Wolverine, Magneto...and possibly no Spider-Man?
That's for sure some bittersweet news as I love to play as Wolverine, Magneto, and Cyclops...and mutants were a HUGE part of 2 and 3! On the flip side, there's a good chance with slots open we could be seeing Daredevil, Jessica Jones, and Luke Cage! I'm going through a whirlwind of emotions here.
I can't figure out if I'm okay with the removal of mutants for more Marvel characters...where do you stand on that news? Provided this rumor pans out, we could be in for a new Marvel Vs. Capcom that radically departs from past entries. Maybe we should just wait this week out and see if the rumor is true before we stress...
