The next big speedrunning event from the ever-growing popular Games Done Quick (GDQ) group has shared the details of what will take place. This next event is the popular Summer Games Done Quick (SGDQ) 2023 and we have all the information we need to know for the event.
Per usual, the event will be held in a Hilton hotel - Hilton Minneapolis in Minnesota, to be specific - and they will be raising funds for the Doctors Without Borders charity organization. Those who can’t attend in person, they can watch the full nonstop week-long event live on the GDQ Twitch channel.
The event will take place from May 28th to June 4th and they have shared the full schedule already. However, some of the exciting highlighted speedruns that will be taking place include:
Elden Ring (PC) – Any% Glitchless (Mitchriz)
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (Switch) – any% Blindfolded [Bonus Game] (Bubzia)
Pokémon Scarlet/Violet (Switch) – Victory Road (eddaket)
Super Mario Maker 2 (Switch) – 8-person Relay Race
The Elder Scrolls Anthology (PC) – Main Series (Chronos_R)
Ring Fit Adventure (Switch) – World 1 Intensity 30 Restricted [Bonus Game] (Verxl)
Another year, another series of charity speedrunning events, and the heart of GDQ’s work falls under their Summer series. Even from the first time I found out about GDQ, it was during the SGDQ event specifically and it’s great to see that they are keeping this event going so often and continuing to provide so much aid to charities through the events. Will you be tuning in for SGDQ 2023? Which run are you looking forward to watching most?
