Sega and Jakks Pacific Renew Sonic the Hedgehog Toy Deal

Get ready for more amazing Sonic the Hedgehog merch. Sega of America renewed its toy deal with Jakks Pacific to create more Sonic toys through 2029.

The toy company announced in a press release on Monday that it renewed its partnership with Sega to continue producing more toys, action figures, collectibles, and other merchandise based on Sonic and his friends to be sold in retail stores globally, from the Toys ‘R Us section of Macy’s to Walmart. The initial toy deal was inked in 2019, which has resulted in merch like RC cars from Team Sonic Racing, mini Classic Sonic plushies, toy sets from Sonic 2 and Sonic 3, and even the Jumbo Shadow Popsicle plushie based on the real-life Sonic popsicle.

“Our Sonic the Hedgehog line continues to perform strongly at retail, and has consistently connected with fans worldwide throughout our partnership with Sega over the last 6 years,” said Virginia Reneau, Senior Vice President of Licensing at Jakks Pacific, Inc. “From action figures to playsets and plush, the brand has seen steady growth since the beginning of our collaboration and we look forward to building on that momentum with exciting new offerings well into the future, which we can’t wait to share with the fans.”

With how popular Sonic has grown so far this decade, from the Sonic movies to the recent release of Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, it’s no surprise that the toy deal between Sega and Jakks Pacific got renewed. They want to make sure that Sonic fans young and old continue to show off their love for the Blue Blur with whatever new merch comes their way.
