Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds has been out for a month now, and the most popular racing game in the franchise since Sonic and All-Stars Racing Transformed has been ranked as the eighth best-selling game in the U.S for September.
The ranking was released by Circana analyst Mat Piscatella (via Sonic Stadium) on Wednesday, showing Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds trailing behind Silent Hill: f, Helldivers 2, and Ghost of Yotei, among other games, for the reporting period of August 31 through October 4. Platform-wise, the game is in third place on PC, while the Switch, Xbox, and PlayStation versions ranked fourth, eighth and ninth, respectively.
Not exactly what we expected from Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds considering the immense popularity it gained between the open network test and its release day, but at least it landed in the top 10, so a win’s a win. Surprisingly, Borderlands 4 is the number one best-selling game. I wonder how that will affect considerations for The Game Awards in December.
