Ever since the announcement of the local and online multiplayer mode for the hit farming sim, Stardew Valley, fans of the game, including myself, have been patiently waiting for Eric Barone to reveal the release date of the new mode. In an announcement by Barone himself via a tweet, the lone developer of Stardew Valley has revealed that the multiplayer mode is almost ready and could be released in a month’s time.
The multiplayer mode of Stardew Valley will allow up to three friends to work on a single farm and help the main player accomplish the overwhelming tasks of daily farm life. Aside from serving as the main player’s farmhands, they will also be able to join in on festivals, adventures, marry NPC’s, and even marry the player.
Of course, the main player will still have more authority around the daily running of the farm but, these co-op friends will be able to enjoy the many activities that Stardew Valley has to offer. You can check out Eric Barone’s previous update on the multiplayer mode here, where he showed a screenshot of his player and some of his friends, having a blast on his farm. If you still haven’t tried out Stardew Valley until now, you can check out our Nintendo Switch review of the game where we highlighted the seamless experience of Stardew Valley on the Switch.
