STREET FIGHTER Champ Daigo "Eagerly Awaiting" Rematch After Losing To Rapper Lupe Fiasco

Fans of eSports collectively lost their minds when gaming legend and Street Fighter champ Daigo lost to rapper Lupe Fiasco at the Street Fighter V launch event a couple days ago. Fiasco went 3-2 in a best of five in a match that many were shocked to witness. As soon as the stream concluded many decided the move was staged, Daigo was jet lagged from his flight from Japan, or just incredibly drunk. We don't know if any of that is true, but it appears Daigo is making no excuses in his issued statement to Kotaku...

“Given that Lupe is such a wildly talented artist, it shouldn’t be surprising that he came to play against me last night. I would like to congratulate him on his victory last night, but let’s say that you can eagerly await a rematch. The crowd warmly welcomed us and was so excited. I thought it was a great run. Lupe gifted me his own “Metal Gear” jacket (which I wore at the autograph session latter). I believe it was because he thought we had good matches too!”

Good to know Daigo is taking it in stride. I personally would love to see a rematch. If you missed the first showdown, watch it below!
